Fumigation is a method of applying, holding and removing a toxic chemical in a gaseous state in order to destroy pests (insects, microorganisms, pathogens, etc.) in the product and its storage. The chemical substance acts on insects and animals, penetrating into their respiratory tracts. Fumigation is effective for processing industrial and agricultural products, and is carried out both in warehouses and in the holds of ships.
Fumigation can be performed in warehouses where agricultural raw materials are stored, as well as in silos. For the effective and safe conduct of fumigation works, it is necessary to ensure sealing conditions and to prevent the presence of people in the places of work.
Transit fumigation is a cost-effective method of decontamination of grain cargoes, as it is carried out not only in the port, but also continues during the voyage, which allows the cargo to be kept in good condition without the vessel being idle.
The “BREEZE LIGHT” company carries out the following decontamination works:
- fumigation of products and grain in wagons, containers;
- fumigation of products and grain in the holds of ships;
- grain fumigation at elevators;
- fumigation of products and grain in warehouses.
Fumigation by BREEZE LIGHT LLC is carried out using pesticides and agrochemicals approved for use in Ukraine and certified equipment. Decontamination work is performed exclusively by employees who have undergone special training and have permits for the right to work with pesticides and agrochemicals issued by the Main Department of the State Production and Consumer Service in the Odesa region.
Phosphine (PH3) is the only fumigant approved for transit fumigation by the International Maritime Organization.
Fumigation is carried out with preparations based on aluminum and magnesium phosphide registered in Ukraine (“Fostoxin”, “Magtoxin”, “Fostek”, “Toxifoz”, “Alfos”).
